Best Women’s Park Snowboards : Lib Tech T. Ripper : 2015-2016 Good Wood Board Test

Proving you don’t always need a women-specific deck, our ladies gave the T. Ripper a gold star for being an aggressive park board that rode solid top to bottom. Constructed with Travis Rice’s signature geometries, but slightly altered for smaller riders, it has a snappy wood core made of Aspen and Colombian woods, and birch internal sidewalls. The blend of rocker between the bindings and camber out to the tips was powerful and cut through chunder for a sturdy ride. “I was a little scared about the Magne-Traction [serrated edges] on the rails, but it was fine and slid things nicely,” said our rail ripper. “Stiffer deck with loads of pop.”

From our testers: “This deck is great for ladies looking for stiff, poppy deck that is great for jibbing, and mellow on jumps.”

Length (cm) — Sidecut Radius (m) — Waist Width (cm)

136 — 7.5 — 22.8
141 — 7.6 — 23.4
146 — 7.7 — 24.2

Flex: Medium-soft

Camber: Hybrid (reverse between inserts, camber to tips)

(Flex is not standardized and differs by brand. The rating here is the best estimate of the board’s flex.)

(Sidecut Radius: The measure of how deep or shallow the arc of a board’s edge is from the tips to the middle, in meters. A smaller radius, around six to seven meters means a board will generally turn tighter. As the radius number increases, a board can be expected to make wider turns. Multiple numbers on the same length board means the radius is blended.)
