Starting Thursday, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows ski resort near Lake Tahoe offers skiers and snowboarders a chance to star in their own on-slope films. Te resort has partnered with newcomer Cape Productions for its high-tech drone expertise. Here’s how it works: You sign up in advance (either online or at the resort) and are directed to a dedicated run for the shoot.
You get to go down twice, with the drone filming you each time: once from the front, then from the side and back. A handheld camera also captures the action. Within 48 hours, you’ll receive a pro-level two-minute video of highlights set to music. You can slap it on Facebook or just share it with family and friends. Drone shoots are available Thursdays through Sundays. It costs $99, whether it’s just you, or you and your BFFs.
