First there’s crawling, then there’s walking, and then snowboarding apparently!
This 14-month-old little girl named Sloan Henderson just took her very first run this week at Park City Mountain Resort in Park City, Utah. According to Sloan’s parents, Katie and Zachary Henderson, just weeks after Sloan learned to walk, she learned how to snowboard. And to her parents surprise, Sloan was able to balance on the snowboard effortlessly and without any assistance.
Mom says, “We were just so proud of her. We were just so impressed that she could ride,” Katie told ABC News. “I’m just jealous because I don’t pick up sports as quickly.” And the video of Sloan that was just supposed to be for family and friends, has gotten worldwide attention! “It turned into something crazy. It’s kind of surreal,” Katie said.
Although they do make tiny snowboard for kids, dad Zach says it wasn’t quite small enough. “Even though it was the smallest snowboard on the market, we still had to make modifications to it so her legs weren’t so far apart,” Henderson told KUTV.
